About me & FAQ!

About me:

My name is Tamara, or as close friends call me, T.
I was born and raised in San Diego, California, so naturally, I am addicted to all things beautiful!
My hobby's include, Blogging, Vlogging, drawing, exercising, and being creative through crafts, like sewing, DIY projects and more.

My reasons for starting a blog were that I am a make-up lover and hardcore user!
Everything about make-up is interesting to me. From how its made, how you can use it and what techniques are used.
I love it all.

Besides having this blog, I have a awesome little family. I have a husband and a 2 year old daughter. My family is my life and without them, I wouldn't be the woman I am today. I always put them first.
I try and post as much as possible, but it gets pretty overwhelming when you have a toddler running around and you really want to get a post done, but you don't want to feel like your ignoring them, so I try and balance everything.

My blog consists of beauty reviews (anything from make-up to hair styling products),
style, fashion, lifestyle, life events, and miscellaneous. I am not a Professional make-up artist or consultant. I am just here to share what I know and techniques I use. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to help out with something you are looking for help with :)

My favorite make-up stores are ULTA, Sephora, and Amazon.com (online).
If you are looking for variety, I would say check out Ulta. Its like Sephora and drugstore make-up had a baby. The price ranges anywhere from .99 cents and up! Sephora features many high end products and both stores have amazing return policies.
Both stores participate in a rewards program so make sure you sign up for that. Once you reach a certain threshold you get to pick products that they give for free, just for spending money at their store.  Also sign up for email alerts. Both stores offer birthday freebies, such as Sephora, this year offered a sugar lip duo. Ulta offers Free brow waxing on your actual birthday.
How awesome is that!

What made you get into make up?
I was always very artistic since a young age, from drawing fashion clothes, people and scenery, so I guess it transitioned to make-up when I finally started using it in my teen years. I actually was so artistically influenced that I used to want to be a Fashion Designer so my Art teacher recommended me to the School of creative and performing arts. My dream was to become a Fashion Designer. There I took make-up and costume classes, dance, art, and other specialized classes.

Is this a hobby or full time job?
Its just a hobby. I'd love for it to be a full time job though ;)

What are your top 5 go to products?
I couldn't live without my Revlon photoready foundation, Milani Liqufi-eye in black, theBalm Hot mama blush, theBalm Bahama mama bronzer and my Carmex chapstick.

What are your top 3 drug store brands?
Revlon, L'oreal, and wetNwild

Top 3 "expensive" or name brand  brands?
theBalm, Urban Decay and NARS

What is your best advice for keeping your skin great?
Be gentle with it. Its a living thing that's a part of you, so treat it with care like you would anything else. If you dont, it will show.

What are your tips for new make up users?
Learn the right technique. You can have the right product, but if you have no idea how to correctly or even expertly apply it, it will not look good. Doesn't matter if it a 80 dollar foundation. If you apply it streaky and non-blended, that's how it look, streaky and unblended.

Best place to buy make up?
Shop around. I love sales and Ulta always has their $3.50 off $10 for drugstore brands coupons that come out every week. Sephora tends to have more expensive kits or sample kits for relatively cheap.

What is your favorite drugstore tanner?
I really like the L'Oreal Sublime bronze gel, however the smell stinks and it fades out uneven, but the color is perfect and it has glitter flecks in it to help you glow. One of the best self tanners I have used to date.

What is your favorite high end tanner?
Sun Lab tanner. It doesn't have the stinky smell like the L'Oreal or other drugstore brands. Only slightly that you can barely even tell. It fades evenly around the arm pits and ankles so you won't look like you have dirt crust.

Do you prefer High-end or Low-end brands?
I try and give every brand a chance. A $40 dollar blush can preform the exact same as a $3 blush can. Just because it has a "name on it" doesn't mean its better. If you notice in my blog, I feature alot of drugstore products because 1. I don't always have the time to go to the mall and buy make-up. 2. Some drugstore products blow the competition out of the water.

What is your dream job?
Being a secret shopper, make-up reviewer or stylist.

What would you love to see on the make up market?
ph Adjusting foundation!
I see all these blushes and lipsticks and glosses that adjust to your "ph" level for your skin but...what about foundation? One thing that many girls get wrong is the shade of foundation.

Do you subscribe to any "beauty box" companies?
I actually was very close to subscribing to birchbox but was turned off by all the negative feedback. Skin products that I don't want or need samples of. I was looking for mainly make-up filled subscriptions because I am always willing to try out new make-up.
I now am subscribed to myGlam which is $10 a month. I have really have liked many of the bags (10) so far, with the exception of one. I usually do reviews on the ones I feel are "worth" doing it on.
A cool thing to is that all the products always come in a little bag that you can keep and store stuff in.

What do you hope to achieve by having a blog/vlog?
I only want to help people by sharing my opinion. I will never boast about a product that isn't worth the hype. I remember before I started a blog, I always looked for reviews of products because I felt that it was worth looking up the negatives and positives, before buying.
I rarely buy a product without looking it up. I don't want to waste my time with returns or exchanges. I also see it as a public diary. I like looking back and seeing how far I've come since starting out.

What do you like the most about the blogging world?
I get to meet so many different and beautiful people. I was amazed how big and influential the world of blogging is. It's crazy to know that before blogging, I had no idea about alot of the sites, that I love today.
