Mai Couture Review + A Giveway!!

Hello my beautifuls!!!
Today I have a review on these amazing blush papiers and also my very first YouTube Giveaway. I am inviting you to join as well!

I was first introduced to this brand through the IPSY bag (if you have no idea what I am talking about, click HERE to be redirected to my review on them).
At first when I saw these in my IPSY bag, I put them to the side to see what else was inside. After going through everything, I went back to these and was amazed at the product!

To those of you who are subscribed, have you seen this kind of product before? I never have. I thought this was so genius. A make-up product that has so many user friendly benefits.

MAI COUTURE Sunset Blvd. Blush Papiers

Product info:
Desperately seeking a dose of healthy colour? One sheet of Mai Couture Blush Papier will instantly boost the complexion without the need for messy, unhygienic brushes. With five different colors to choose from, each Blush Papier sheet is lightly powdered with paraben-free and talc-free pigment to give the complexion a natural-looking hint of shimmering hue. Radiant and fabulous? That’s you.

Colors available: Prettyful, Sunset Blvd., Venice Beach, Uptown and Sicily

$17.50 for 50 sheets

Left to right: Bronzing papiers, highlighting papiers and the Sunset blvd papiers.

The packaging on these Blush papiers are something else. Foiled gold cardboard packaging makes these uber high end looking. Not only are these lightweight and unbreakable, but it is a great alternative to plastic making it ideal for our environment. I liked most that they are lightweight. I detest a heavy make-up bag and am constantly cleaning it out weekly so that I don't have extra things in it that I don't need. I carry all my daughters items (diapers, sippy cup snacks, extra clothes, toys etc) so I REALLY do not need any extra weight.

The products itself is remarkable. Who would've thought to powder papier sheets, to use for make-up? So innovative!

I really like the fact that you don't need a brush to apply these. Trust me, I tried. I put the paper on my cheek and swirl my brush to the back of the paper and nothing transferred. Its best to use your fingers. If you follow me on Twitter, you saw >>>>>>>
That many brushes is a big no-no in my book.

Along with the no-brush factor, you can count on this being sanitary. All you need to do is tear a papier out, use it and throw it away. If you are looking to share, do the same thing. No need to disinfect with alcohol or worry about bacteria from others on your make-up.

The only iffy part in the whole brush routine, is that when you use a brush, you swipe it on with however much product you want until you get the color desired. Because this is a papier applicator, you need to rub and then look how much has been applied. Rub again to distribute more product, Look to see if its the right amount, if its not, repeat this process until you get the color you are looking for. It's a hassle because brushes make it easier, because you don't need to pull back to see how much product has been transferred. I don't know if I am explaining it right, but using these sheets takes more effort in applying blush.

I wore this blush for a good 3 hours before I saw fading. I can't contribute the fading 100% to the product itself. I touch my face way to much, so that might be a factor. I really like how these looked on my skin. I thought it would be a little light for my skin tone (NC30) but amazingly it showed up and gave me a nice tanned flush look. As you can see, it is a satin finish. No giant glitter specks or frosty cheeks here.

I am wearing both the blush and highlighter in the below photo.

Tear out a piece from the booklet. Tear that piece in half. Take that half and two fingers and place on your cheek. Start at the apple of your cheek and rub lightly upwards towards your ear. I layer the product instead of trying to get it all on in one shot.  I usually use two layers to make sure I get a nice even application.

Left to right: Bronzer papiers, highlighting papiers, & Sunset blvd blush papiers

Mess free
No need for brushes
If you love brushes, this might be "enough" for you
Product might be ruined upon getting wet

Overall, this is definitely worth trying. Especially if you are butterfingers and prone to dropping things. The ease of these papiers are really a no brainer.

FOTD: Bronzed + Questions?

Hello my beauties!!
What have you all been up to? Enjoying the new year, I hope?
It seems like I am forever trying to catch up on posts, and of course, I get even further behind doing a FOTD, rather than a review. LOL. So typical me.

I wanted to ask a few questions since your here!
For the New Year, what would you like to see more of on my blog? Are you a follower over on Youtube? You should be! :) I wanted to know what you would like to see more of and what do you presently like about my blog? What can make I do, to make my blog a more interesting place for you?

Who went? Who's going tomorrow? I SOOOOOOOO wanted to go, but I thought it was later in the year. Apparently, the dates changed to accommodate other locations so I wasn't able to plan accordingly. DANGIT!!! I was/am so disappointed I missed it this year. I will for sure be at the next one, you can count on that. BOOOOOO!!!!

Also for you MAC Attack lovers out there, I plan on visiting my not-so local CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet) very soon and I wanted to know if any of you have been recently, what you've seen there, what to look for, etc. I am a member on but no new threads have been created about recent hauls from the CCO so I figured, why not ask my beautiful subbies?...:)
If you have any ideas about recent inventory, when to go etc, comment below! I would very much appreciate it.

Have you seen my newest review? Its on the Foundation and Powder I am wearing here. Its the Revlon Nearly NAKED foundation that I compare to my Urban Decay Foundation.

MAC Archie's Girls collection (Feb 2013)

Photos courtesy of Jamicaobserver

When I was growing up I loved the comic series Archie.
I used to love going to the store to catch up on the comic series while my mom was checking out in the grocery line. I remember thinking, I am more like veronica, but I like Betty's good girl side. Veronica always seemed to be more sultry and dark.

A few people were complaining that this collection seems dated but I beg to differ! I am mainly going to be buying something because I loved the series. If you didn't, then don't. That's not to say I will like something but I was very familiar with the magazine growing up and I'm able to buy it now, so why not?

If you are on, you may have noticed a thread about this collection and tons of drool worth photos to go with it.

Now, I know I have been avoiding MAC long enough. I have been comparing some of my higher end products, trying to avoid MAC because I thought they were so expensive, but in reality, MAC most times is less expensive than brands like NARS, Urban Decay etc. I finally am embracing them for what they are.

I plan on going to my local CCO to see if there is anything good to be had. If any of you ladies have recommendation on what to look for, HG items you love, let me know in the comments below!

I also have a NEW review up featuring the Urban Decay NAKED skin vs. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I have yet to do a written blog post on it, but I will be getting to that soon. Thank you all for sticking with me through everything, I love each and everyone of you and your comment always brighten my day, knowing there are sweet people like you out there.

Please watch and make sure you are subscribed!

Do you plan on getting something from the collection? What looks good to you?
Hope you all are having an amazing start of the new year!
